2006 Minnesota Swarm Schedule
The Minnesota Swarm announced their 2006 Schedule today. They will open at home for the first time ever in team history as they host the
Phladelphia Wings on Friday, January 6th at 7:00 pm.
- 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays & 2 Sundays for home games this year
- I think there is excellent opportunity for some tailgating this year
- 2 home games each against Rochester and Philadelphia in the first half of the year
- 3 weekends with back to back games.
- The Sunday home games with Rochester and San Jose could work very well with local television coverage.
- Long break between home games from February 10th to March 24th. 4 games on the road. The weekends in between are filled at Xcel by the following starting on Fridays:
- Feb 17th: State High School Dance Team Championships
- Feb 24th: Girls State High School Hockey Championships
- Mar 3rd: Boys State High School Wrestling Championships
- Mar 10th: Boys State High School Hockey Championships
- Mar 17th: WCHA Final Five
- 2 games versus Portland, one at home, one away.
- Play Calgary and Edmonton on the road, early in the season. Damn cold.
- Like last year, 3 games vs. Philadelphia, Rochester & Buffalo and two vs. Toronto.
- We don't play Colorado or Arizona.
- None of the home games are on the same day as Wild home games.
- Finish regular season with 4 of 5 at home. That should give the Swarm the momentum into the playoffs.
- Once again, 3 months and 23 days until the Wings are spayed and neutered.
