2007 Minnesota Swarm Schedule Announced

August 29, 2006

2007 Minnesota Swarm Schedule

Comments on the schedule

  • The Swarm have a 10:30 start on March 24, 2007 against Toronto. It is part of a doubleheader with the Minnesota Wild who play earlier in the day against the Los Angeles Kings at 7:00 pm
    • I envision at few beer trucks being driven onto the floor. A kegger at The Hive. Lock everyone in and raise hell, I say.
    • The Wild game sure could screw up the tailgate beforehand but we could get some cars towed to give us some space.
    • I think it is fantastic idea and hope it goes well. I'll have to contact the Swarm staff to get ideas of what they plan to do that night.
  • We open against the Chicago Shamrox in order to start building the easy to drive to rivalry that all Swarm fans wish and desire.
  • Four Saturdays, three Sundays, one Friday at home.
  • 30 day home break from January 19th - February 18th. This surprising considering the various tournaments like boys hockey start weekend of Feb 16th through March 16th. At least it is shorter than last years.
  • Home dates in four of the last six. This seems to be a trend for the Swarm and I like it.
  • I wish we could have got one more Saturday home game.
  • The Swarm staff have said they are very enthusiastic into getting a bus for the Swarm roadtrip to see the Shamsux in Chicago on February 24th. It really helps that the both games against Chicago are in Saturday.
  • I am sure we will welcome back Adam Mueller on February 18th as the New York Muellers come to The Hive.
  • We play all the four playoffs from the West in 2007. We finish the regular season against the Arizona Sting. The Wrath of (Craig) Conn comes back to The Hive; however, Kasey Beirnes will show him who got the best of that deal.
  • Four two-game weekends are on the schedule. The two game roadtrip to Toronto and Rochester on the weekend of April 6th will be gigantic for playoff seeding.
  • Only one weekend other than the All-Star game is devoid of games.
  • The Swarm have to go 2-0 to start with at home before the four game road trip.
  • This year Buffalo won't beat us on an early Sunday afternoon.
  • Bring on the Shamsux in 137 days and 4 hours.
  • Lastly, I look at the schedule at find 16 wins and 0 losses. I can't wait to see Ryan Cousins and Brock Boyle lift the Champions Cup over their heads on the floor of The Hive in May 2007.
