Five More Join the Fun

November 28, 2007

The Swarm signed the following players to two-year contracts:

  • D - Travis Hill - 8 GP 1g 7a 71 LB - (2005-07 Swarm) - T. Hill stepped up his game after Miyashita's season ended as he became the main face off guy with 93 wins on 212 faceoffs. With Miyashita still doubtful, year four should see T. Hill get plenty of playing time.
  • F - Rory McDade - 3 GP 0g 4a 8 LB - (2006-07 Swarm) - McDade will continue to try to get a starting spot on the team but has a lot of competition on the left side with Chad Culp, Andy Secore, Mike Hominuck and Dean Hill.

The Swarm signed the following players to one-year contracts:

  • G - Nick Patterson - 14 GP 7-5 11.43 GAA .775 Save % - (2005-07 Swarm) - The Swarm's #1 netminder continues to ascend to stardom as he won a team record 7 games and was named to the NLL All-Pro Second Team for a second straight year.
  • F - Chad Culp - 11 GP 13g 24a 29 LB - (2005-07 Swarm) - Culp started slowly but finished strong with two game winners including the one with 0.8 seconds left at The Hive against Arizona on April 14th in the season finale.
  • D - Jonathan Durno - Free Agent Signing - 7/5/82 - Height 6-4 - Weight 215. Plays for Brooklin in the summer. Mentioned by Marty in this thread about training camp. He looks like he has some pretty good size and can mix it up. Originally drafted by Rochester in 2005 in 3rd Round 26th Overall. Attending Canisius where he played hockey.
