Schuss Hold Out May Last Whole Season

December 17, 2014

Big news in Swarmville today as the Swarm announced that Logan Schuss is on the hold out list due to work and the Swarm have no idea when or if he will be available this season.

The team knew that there was going to be conflict before camp otherwise they would have booked him airfare to Oakville for camp on December 5th. However, they may have thought there would be a chance that he would be in town for the opener but just recently found out that would not be so.

Andrew Suitor is a big "go into battle with the guys in camp and not with the guys not in camp" guy. So even though he would like Schuss playing, he is out of sight out mind. Not too mention, Suits really likes how the offense looks so far in their time together and figures the team is more than ready to kick ass with who they have.

With Schuss out, that leaves five lefty forwards:

The team will probably go with four after tomorrow with only Jackson and MacDonald sure bets in my mind. Of course, depending on tomorrow's league transactions, there may be someone out there who may get a look from the Swarm even though if there were a good lefty forward available, he wouldn't be available.

Who will step up to be the number one option on that side? I think that question will be answered down the road. You will hear cliques like "scoring by committee", "whoever is hot" and "we know that anyone of them can step it up on any night". My hunch if MacDonald progresses as the team thinks he will, he will be the #1 option with Jackson doing the dishing. I think Jackson is a good #2 not sure about #1 but maybe he will prove me wrong, hopefully. Hill, Cotter and Maracle are complimentary players at best from what I have seen and will be counted on to do the dirty work, which there will be a lot of.

No matter what happens, this team sure can keep you guessing, never letting you know quite what's coming around the corner. I am looking forward to see all of these five shine brightly this season.
