  • 05/11/05 - Now Portland Gets a NLL Team, Too

    The NLL has announced for the second time in a week that a new team will debut in 2006. This team will be in Portland and with Edmonton they will increase the league to 12 teams. The expansion draft now will include both teams which means all the other teams including the Swarm will now lose more players in the draft.

  • 05/10/05 - Bateman Named to NLL All-Rookie Team

    The Swarm's first round draft pick Ryder Bateman was named to the NLL All-Rookie Team today. Bateman finished the season with 20 goals and 19 assists in 14 games in the inaugural Minnesota Swarm season. Bateman will definitely be protected in the upcoming expansion draft and be a fixture in the Swarm's future.

  • 05/05/05 - Edmonton to get a NLL team for 2006

    The NLL announced that there will be a new team in Edmonton next year. The Edmonton will acquire the rights to the obsolete Ottawa Rebel franchise that last played in 2003. There will definitely be an expansion draft later this year that the Edmonton will draft players from other teams including the Swarm. The Swarm will have to some time in the near future protect two goaltenders and ten runners or one goaltender and thirteen runners from the expansion draft while exposing the rest of the team.
