April 2005 Updates

March 2005 | Current Month | Other Months | May 2005

  • 04/20/05 - Patterson Named NLL Defensive Player of the Week

Nick Patterson was named NLL Defensive Player of the Week Ending April 17th. Patterson had his best game of the season to end the season as he saved 45 of 57 shots against the Philadelphia Wings as the Swarm won their home finale of the 2005 by a 14-12 score. Patterson earned his first win of the season and his first complete game of the season in three starts. Unfortunately, the season is over and we have to wait eight months to see if Patterson can build off this weekend.

  • 04/20/05 - Bateman Named NLL Rookie of the Week - Second Time This Year

Ryder Bateman was named NLL Rookie of the Week Ending April 17th. Bateman finished his rookie season strong with three goals and an assist in the Swarm's 14-12 home finale victory over the Philadelphia Wings. Bateman finished the season with 20 goals and 19 assists in 14 games.

  • 04/15/05 - Review: Swarm 14 Wings 12

A fantastic night to finish the season for the Swarm as they beat the Wings 14-12 at Xcel. Down 12-10 with 9 minutes to go, the Swarmies came back with 4 straight to end the season with two wins in a row.

We found out why Swarm management is so high on young Mr. Nick Patterson. He moves well and cuts off al ot of angles. It seemed that many Wings' shots went past the net because of Nick's positioning. With I believe 3 pretty solid goaltenders with the above mentioned Patterson, Matt Disher and Mike Attwood, goal for the Swarm is in good hands.

  • 04/09/05 - Review: Swarm 12 Storm 11

Ryan Ward had five goals including the tying goal with a second left in the game to send it overtime. Jamie Taylor finished off the Anaheim Storm's (4-10) playoff chances with the game winner 7:03 into overtime as the Swarm won 12-11. The Swarm came back from a 8-5 defecit after three quarters to rally for a big win late Saturday night in Anaheim.

  • 04/01/05 - Review: Swarm 9 Mammoth 15

The Minnesota Swarm (3-11) returned home but were met by two Gaits and the Colorado Mammoth (8-5) who laid out the Swarm 15-9. Kelly Hall led the Swarm with three goals and four assists but a strong second half which the Mammoth outscored the Swarm 7-2 put the Swarm away. The Swarm have lost six of seven at home with one home game remaining in two weeks against Philadelphia.
