- 03/25/05 - Review: Swarm 11 Knighthawks 20
The Swarm (3-10) and Knighthawks (8-5) ended their weekend series in Rochester on Saturday night in Rochester, with the
Knighthawks running away from the Swarm 20-11. Ryder Bateman's four goals were not even close
enough for the Swarm fell behind 11-5 by halftime and even further thereafter.
- 03/25/05 - Review: Swarm 12 Knighthawks 11
Chad Culp was the hero at the X tonight as he scored the first game winning goal with 3:05 left in the game for the Minnesota Swarm (3-9) in a home game as
they beat the Rochester Knighthawks (7-5), 12-11. The win for the Swarm snapped a team record seven game losing streak and five game home losing streak.
Kelly Hall scored two goals and four assists to lead the team in scoring.
- 03/25/05 - Swarm Make Numerous Moves At Free Agent Deadline
The Minnesota Swarm shored up the roster as the NLL In-Season Free Agent deadline passed. The season has officially
ended for Scott Campbell as he was placed on injured reserve for the broken leg he suffered
against Buffalo on March 11th. Campbell finished the season with an assist and 43 loose balls in seven games. To take
Campbell's place, the Swarm activated goaltender Nick Patterson off injured reserve. That means the Swarm now have three goaltenders on the active roster with Patterson, Matt Disher
and Mike Attwood. Presumably with three goaltenders, the Swarm figure that Patterson may be able
to come back at some time this season while keeping Attwood just in case to back up Disher.
The Swarm also signed two free agents before the game against Rochester. To replace Craig Conn, they signed Tony Henderson who was cut by Arizona earlier in the season after one game. Henderson is in his fifth NLL season with 44 goals and 29 assists in 30 games. He played in Philadelphia from 2002 - 2004 under Swarm General Manager Marty O'Neill. To replace Campbell, the Swarm signed
rookie free agent Shawn Summerfield who played with the Ajax-Pickering Rock in the
OLA Sr B league last summer.
- 03/25/05 - Neil Doddridge Retires from the NLL
Neil Doddridge announced that he is retiring from the NLL as a member of the
Minnesota Swarm right now. Doddridge has played in fifteen NLL seasons with 94 goals and 93 assists. This season for the
Swarm, Doddridge has two goals and two assists in four games. He has not played in a game since February 11th against Toronto.
- 03/23/05 - Conn Traded to Arizona in Big Move for the Swarm
The Minnesota Swarm shockingly traded All-Star Craig Conn to the Arizona Sting
for a first round pick in the 2006 NLL Entry Draft. Conn had played eight games with 14 goals and 17 assists and
is a young player with quite a future ahead for him. The trade puts a big hole in the offense with few options that
the Swarm have available to fill at this time.
- 03/18/05 - Review: Swarm 11 Bandits 13
The Minnesota Swarm (2-9) lost their seventh straight to the Buffalo Bandits (8-3) by a 13-11 score in Buffalo. The Bandits swept the season series 3-0 but the final
of the season series saw the Swarm with their best showing against the Bandits. Chad Culp led the Swarm with 4 goals and 2 assists and
Matt Disher redeemed himself from the previous game with 43 saves on 56 shots.
- 03/11/05 - Review: Swarm 16 Bandits 23
The Minnesota Swarm (2-8) lost their sixth straight and still are winless at home (0-5) after getting trounced 23-16 by the Buffalo Bandits (7-3) at the X. The 23
goals were the most ever given up the Swarm in a game. The Bandits' John Tavares had five goals including his 500th in his career and AJ Shannon notched the first
ever sock trick (six goals) against the Swarm. Jamie Taylor and Brock Boyle each had three goals to lead the Swarm.
- 03/09/05 - Roster Moves Before Buffalo Home Game
The Minnesota Swarm put goaltender Nick Patterson on injured reserve due to the torn MCL in his left knee he incurred against Philadelphia last weekend. In order to replace him on the roster, the Swarm signed Mike Attwood to the active roster. Attwood was drafted by the Swarm last October but released in training camp.
The Swarm also released defenseman Trent Smalley for the second time this season. Smalley had not played since January 28th. His replacement is Travis Hill who has been on the practice
roster all season up to now. Hill has not yet played in the NLL and participated in training camp for the Swarm.
- 03/05/05 - Review: Swarm 8 Wings 15
The Minnesota Swarm (2-7) lost their fifth straight and the last two of those games they lost to the Philadelphia Wings
(5-5). This time the Swarm were throttled 15-8 in Philadelphia in a game that saw two major fights that racked up the penalty
minutes for both teams. The Swarm also suffered a tough loss with starting goaltender Nick Patterson going down with a leg injury just six minutes into the game after a collision with a Wings player.
