Taylor and Ward's Late Game Heroics Ride Out the Storm

Great win for the Swarm who come back from 4-8 midway in 3rd to win in
OT 12-11. Jamie Taylor, this Bud is for you. Matt Disher with 3 great saves
in OT. He sure picked it up when it counted.
Started with some fisticuffs in the 1st minute. Afterwards, the Storm seemed to get more
quality shots than the Swarm. Disher started slowly but picked it up
late. The Morgan brothers (Richard & Peter) seem to be working well
together, giving our D trouble. Storm is getting a lot more face offs
than the Swarm. Taylor and Ryan Ward got the goals for the Swarm. After the first, the Storm were up 3-2.
Peter Morgan and Adam Bysouth score for Storm to start the second to increase the Storm lead to 5-2.
D'arcy Berthiaume scores over Matt Roik's left shoulder to cut the lead to 5-3. Chad
Culp got injured early in the period after contact with Casey Logeman. Sounded like a leg injury of some sort.
He needed help off the field. Hope he is alright.
Sean Pollock got a late goal with the extra attacker to get back within 3 down 7-4 into the half.
. We're still having trouble with the Morgans and the
Powells (Ryan & Casey) seem to be getting in the groove too. The 3rd Period started with Scott Stewart of Anaheim scoring. A later goal was disallowed afterwards because Shawn Cable was
in the crease. Brock Boyle sneaks one by Roik. Ryder Bateman cut by Matt Dwane, no penalty. Disher make great shorthanded
breakaway save on Cable as the third ends with the Swarm down 5-8. Not the prettiest of 3rd Periods. The Storm has blown some
games in the 4th this season; however, we have got to crank it up to win this game.
The Swarm start fast in the fourth as Riley Kemp scores then right after, Ward. After a Dwane tally, Ward scores on
the power play for the Swarm to get it to 8-9. Stewart puts it back to a goal
deficit with a goal, 8-10. Pollock schools
Logeman, then beats Roik. Ward ties it at ten but with 13 seconds left the Storm are back up 11-10. Out of the
timeout, Ward comes down and scores with 2 seconds to go.
Into overtime the game went with both teams having chances to take the win but it was Taylor at the 7:03 mark who applied
the dagger for the Swarm's first ever overtime win which broke a four game road losing streak.
Goals
Ryan Ward with 5 goals which is a team record, breaking the old record of 4, done 5 times.
Jamie Taylor and Sean Pollock with 2.
Brock Boyle, Riley Kemp & D'arcy Berthiaume with one each.
The Swarm are now 4-11 and have won 2 of their last 3.
Once again, a great win for the Swarm.
