  • 08/08/06 -Heavenor Traded to Calgary for Picks

The Swarm's top pick in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft taken 17th, Nolan Heavenor was traded to the Calgary Roughnecks. In exchange, the Swarm receive second and third round picks in the 2006 Entry Draft. Heavenor only played in four games for the Swarm this year with 3 goals and an assist. His last game was on Febraury 3rd against Edmonton, which means he did not dress for the final ten regular season games and one playoff game. My hunch is work became an issue with Heavenor and this move to Calgary should help him out. The picks that the Swarm got were the same picks they originally sent to Calgary when they acquired Andrew Biers in March of this year. So basically, the Swarm traded Heavenor for Biers, it just took about five months to complete the whole thing.

  • 08/01/06 - Duane Jacobs Becomes Third Head Coach in Swarm History

The Minnesot Swarm announced that Duane Jacobs will become the third head coach in Swarm history. He is also the third head coach in three seasons for the team. He replaces Adam Mueller who left after one season to become Head Coach of New York.
