Minnesota Swarm 23 Man Roster for 2008

The Minnesota Swarm announced their 23-man active roster for the upcoming 2008. Eight new players have made the roster:

Andy Secore
Justin Norbraten
Colin Achenbach
Darren Halls
Nick Inch
Kevin Croswell
Darren Halls

Norbraten (1st Round Pick 9) and Courtney (2nd Round Pick 27) were drafted this year by the Swarm, Point was acquired in a draft day from Boston who drafted him 3rd overall in the draft this year. Halls came with Point in the same trade. Secore was acquired from Arizona in the Dispersal Draft in November. Croswell was drafted by the Swarm in 2006 and spent that season on the practice roster. I nch was acquired by the Swarm in a trade in 2006 but was protected. Achenbach was also signed as free agent this fall and the Burnsville, Minnesota native is the first Minnesotan to make the Swarm active roster or any active NLL roster.

Top players returning are Ryan Cousins, the Swarm captain and 2007 NLL Defensive Player of the Year, goaltender Nick Patterson, who has been named to the All-NLL Second Team the last two years and Ryan Ward, the Swarm's leading scorer the last two years.

Norbraten's signing has not yet been approved by the NLL but should be soon. It should soon be announced that Mark Miyashita is activated from injured reserve to the active roster.

The Swarm have also added Mike Lines as an assistant head coach for the 2008 season.
