Game Notes
- This is the first Swarm win over the Bandits in team history at The Hive in seven tries.
- The Swarm are 4-4 in home openers in their history.
- The 19 goals are tied for the most in a game in team history tying the 19 the Swarm got in Chicago against
the Shamrox on February 24, 2007.
- Tyler Carlson played and started in his first NLL and Swarm game in net getting the win saving 39 of 50 shots. Also,
Carlson notched five assists which is a team record for a goaltender in a game. Carlson is the sixth goaltender to play in a
game in the Swarm's team history. With Nick Patterson
not dresing, don't be surprised if the Swarm go with either Carlson or Evan Kirk going forward.
- Callum Crawford led the Swarm with 2 goals and 7 assists. Crawford has scored nine points in each of the first
two games of the season. Kevin Ross mentioned that this was Crawford's best game in a Swarm uniform.
- Joel Henry scored his first NLL and Swarm goal in the game.
- Hat tricks for Ryan Benesch, Corbyn Tao, Kevin Ross & Andrew Suitor.
- Andrew Sutior scored a goal from our team's net across the floor into the Bandits' net right at the end of the first
quarter. The Bandits challenged the goal but the Referee Mark Gardonio upheld the ruling on the floor.
- Ryan Benesch attempted a penalty shot but was turned away by Mike Thompson.
- Jordan MacIntosh scooped a career high 19 loose balls.
- Callum Crawford and Mitch Belisle served as assistant captains for the game.
- Most impressive was how the Swarm continually got back on defense to thwart Bandit transition attempts.
- According to Jeff Gilbert, the Swarm defense is taking a page from how the Bandits play defense with constant pressure on the
ball carrier. It looks like the Swarm learned well.
- Five Swarm players (Andrew Suitor, Mitch Belisle, Greg Downing Jeff Gilbert & Richard Morgan) and five
Bandit players (Steve Priolo, Mark Steenhuis, Jon Harasym, Brandon Francis & Billy Dee Smith) were all assessed
ten minute game misconducts and ejected for their involvement in fights that occured after time expired
after the first half. The fights started with Bandit Mike Thompson attacking a Swarm player as the team started to depart for
the locker room at the half.
- Tyler Hass did not play due to a hand injury he suffered in the game against Colorado. He may very well be lost
for the rest of year due to the injury.
- Former Swarm Chad Culp led the Bandits in scoring with 3 goals and 3 assists.
