- 10/29/04 - Jamie Taylor is Signed to an Offer Sheet
The Minnesota Swarm signed restricted free agent Jamie Taylor to an one-year contract. However,
his 2004 team, the Rochester Knighthawks, have 72 hours to match. Taylor is a left-handed forward with five years of NLL experience
In 28 NLL games, Taylor has 26 goals and 22 assists for four different teams. Last year in Rochester, Taylor played one game and scored
one goal.
- 10/28/04 - Ray Guze Becomes Second Signed Swarm Player
Ray Guze was signed to an one year contract by the Minnesota Swarm. Guze has only one game of NLL
experience and that was with Buffalo in 2003. He is from Vancouver where this past summer he played for Langley Thunder of the
WLA.
- 10/26/04 - Bateman is First Ever Swarm NLL Entry Draft Pick
Ryder Bateman, a righthanded forward out of Victoria, BC was the first ever player selected
by the Minnesota Swarm in a NLL Entry Draft. Bateman was selected sixth in today's 2004 NLL Entry Draft. Three other players
were selected by the Swarm and the team made two draft day trades. The Swarm entered the day with the first overall pick due
to being an expansion team but traded that pick to the Buffalo Bandits before the draft actually began.

- 10/25/04 - Minnesota Lacrosse Shall Be Known as the Minnesota Swarm
Minnesota Lacrosse announced today at the Xcel Energy Center that they will be known as the Minnesota Swarm.
Swarm General Manager Marty O'Neill and players Neil Doddridge
and Ray Guze were on hand for the presentation. The presentation itself was held on the turf
that will be used by the team with the new primary logo in the middle.
- 10/25/04 - Francey Comes to Minnesota as Clark Goes to Arizona
One day before the 2004 NLL Entry Draft, Minnesota Lacrosse traded forward Jason Clark, who they selected
in last week's Expansion Draft to the Arizona Sting for defenseman Tyler Francey.
- 10/20/04 - Two Trades Today for Minnesota Lacrosse
Minnesota Lacrosse acquired forward Ken Millin and defensman Eric Pacey from
the Toronto Rock for forward Rusty Kruger. Kruger was selected in yesterday's Expansion Draft from Toronto and now
goes back to the Rock. Millin played in 14 games last year for the Rock with 12 goals and 15 assists. He is a six year veteran
of the NLL. Pacey played one game for the Rock last year and in the two previous seasons to 2004 he played a season each
in Montreal for the Express and Ottawa for the Rebel.
The second trade saw Minnesota trade forward Curtis Smith to the Colorado Mammoth for defensemen Shawn Cable and Rory Graham.
Smith was selected in yesterday's Expansion Draft and returns to the Mammoth. Cable is three year NLL veteran with 17 goals and 15 assists
while Graham has played six NLL seasons scoring 14 goals and 22 assists.
- 10/19/04 - Minnesota Lacrosse Selects Ten in Expansion Draft
Minnesota Lacrosse selected ten players in today's Expansion Draft. Each of the other ten teams in the National Lacrosse League
were allowed to protect either ten runners and two goaltenders or thirteen runners and one goaltender. Minnesota Lacrosse was allowed to select
one player from each team. They selected by team alphabetical order beginning with Anaheim and finishing with Vancouver.
- 10/19/04 - Neil Doddridge is First Signed Player by Minnesota Lacrosse
Defenseman Neil Doddridge became Minnesota's first ever player signed to an contract. Doddridge is a thirteen
year veteran of the NLL and played the last two years with the Calgary Roughnecks. He was an unrestricted free agent who is the all-time
NLL leader in penalty minutes with 352. The lefthanded is well-known to Minnesota General Manager Marty O'Neill
as they have played together on numerous Victoria Shamrock teams in the summer. He won two NLL (back then MILL) championships with the 1992 Detroit
Turbos and 1996 Buffalo Bandits. He also has won a record seven Mann Cups playing for various teams in the summer in Canada.
- 10/18/04 - Mike Simpson Named First Head Coach of Minnesota Lacrosse
Minnesota General Manager Marty O'Neill announced that Mike Simpson will
become the first Head Coach in team history. Simpson is from Victoria, BC like O'Neill and has extensive playing and coaching experience. He
was the head man of the Victoria Shamrocks junior "A" team from 2001 - 2003 and last year was a scout for the expansion Anaheim Storm. Simpson
has not coached or played in the National Lacrosse League.
- 10/08/04 - Minnesota Lacrosse Releases Their 2005 Schedule for
Their First Season:
Minnesota Lacrosse opens their first season on the road on New Year's Day in Rochester to play the Knighthawks. After two road games
to start the season, Minnesota Lacrosse will host their home opener against the Buffalo Bandits on Friday, January 21, 2005. They play
their East Division foes three times each. They have two games against the West Division Anaheim Storm, with single games at Arizona
and home against Vancouver. They finish the season at home against Philadelphia.

- 10/04/04 - NLL and Player's Association Agree on Three-Year Deal
The National Lacrosse League will have a season this year as they agree with the Professional Lacrosse Player's Association (PLPA) on a new three
year deal that runs through the 2007. Player signings can now commence and a schedule hopefully will come out soon.
