  • 11/18/04 - Swarm Roster For Training Camp

    The Minnesota Swarm will begin their first ever training camp in Richmond, BC today through Sunday, November 21st at the Sportstown BC complex. 33 players will be participating this weekend.

  • 11/15/04 - The Swarm Finally Get Taylor

    The Swarm tried to sign Jamie Taylor as a restricted free agent last month but were blocked by the Rochester Knighthawks. The Swarm dangled a third round pick in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft in front of Rochester and they bit. They sent Taylor to Minnesota and exchanged each other's third round picks. Taylor will now join Chad Culp and Derek Malawsky as left handed scorers for the Swarm.

  • 11/10/04 - The Swarm to Host Exhibition Game

    The Minnesota Swarm announced they will hold an exhibition game on Friday, December 10th at 7:30 pm at the Xcel Energy Center against the Colorado Mammoth. It is free to public. The following night, the two teams play each other again in Loveland, Colorado.

  • 11/09/04 - The Swarm Sign Kemp and Boyle The Last Two Days

    The Minnesota Swarm signed up two young free agents the last two days:

    Riley Kemp is a defenseman who grew up playing junior lacrosse with the Victoria Shamrocks and played with the senior Shamrocks this past season. He has not yet played a NLL game but was drafted by Calgary in 2002.

    Brock Boyle is a defenseman from Mississauga, ON who has played one game with the 2003 Albany Attack. He played with the Six Nations Chiefs this past summer in the Ontario Senior League.

  • 11/05/04 - The Swarm Acquire Cousins and Culp from Arizona

    The Minnesota Swarm acquired defenseman Ryan Cousins and forward Chad Culp from the Arizona Sting for defenseman Brock Robertson and the Swarm's first round pick in the 2006 NLL Entry Draft.

    Cousins is a three year NLL veteran spending two years with the Columbus Landsharks and moving with the team to Arizona in 2004. In 37 NLL games, Cousins has two goals and six assists. He just finished this past summer winning the 2004 Mann Cup with the Peterborough Lakers.

    Culp has played two NLL seasons starting with the New York Saints in 2003 before ending up in Arizona last season. The lefthander has played in 20 games with 15 goals and 17 assists.

  • 11/04/04 - The Swarm Name Assistant Coaches

    The Minnesota Swarm named Adam Mueller and Derek Moffat assistant head coaches for the inauguaral 2005 season.

    Mueller was head coach under Swarm General Manager Marty O'Neill the last three seasons going 23-26 including a 2002 playoff appearance with the Philadelphia Wings. Mueller spent eleven seasons in the NLL playing 75 games with 50 goals and 69 assists.

    Moffat, who lives in Eagan, MN, was an assistant coach for the Burnaby Lakers junior team in their 2001 Minto Cup run. He played one year in the NLL and has played in the summer lacrosse in British Columbia.

  • 11/01/04 - Rochester Matches Swarm's Offer to Jamie Taylor

    The Rochester Knighthawks matched the Swarm's offer to restricted free agent forward Jamie Taylor that was given to him on October 29th. That means that Taylor will stay with Rochester and the Swarm will have to continue to look elsewhere for players.
