Minnesota Swarm Training Camp
November 10, 2005
The Swarm will have three weekends prior to the regular season in which training camp will be held which I have para.. parap... paraphr... put into my own words:
The first weekend is this upcoming weekend at Six Nations Arena in Oshweken. Ontario. I believe this is where Brock Boyle and Darryl Gibson play summer ball. Last year training camp was in British Columbia so this year they go east. Possibly it will be rotated like this from now on.
It looks like 30 players, 3 of which are goalies will report today, afterwards the following practices occur:
- Friday, November 11 8:00 - 10:00 PM
- Saturday, November 12 6:00 - 8:00 PM
- Sunday, November 13 9:00 - 11:00 AM
- Monday, November 15 7:00 - 9:00 PM
Of course, the Open House is on November 18th, but the Swarm will stay in town during the weekend to conduct more grueling workouts:
- Friday, November 18 9:00 - 11:00 PM Xcel Energy Center
- Saturday, November 19
- 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Corner Kick
- 8:00 - 10:00 PM Corner Kick
- Sunday, November 20 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Corner Kick
The third and final weekend is also here in the Cities. Since they are practicing at this time, my early prediction of a Dec 9th exhibition was a third right. I got the right venue but they are starting an hour late and are playing themselves. Curiously, you will notice that there isn't a practice scheduled for Saturday; therefore, something else may be buzzing that will be announced later.
- Friday, December 9 8:00 - 10:00 PM Xcel Energy Center
- Sunday, December 11 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Corner Kick
Like last year, hopefully the Swarm will put a lot of photos and video of these sessions on the web site.
When the Swarm are at Corner Kick which is at 1357 Cope Avenue in Maplewood, the practices are open for public viewing.
The two times at Xcel are closed to the public so the super, top and confidentially secret plays aren't divulged. Interesting that these two sessions at the X end just in time for the Swarm to get dressed and hit the local watering holes right down West 7th Street.
