  • 01/20/06 - Review: Swarm 12 Roughnecks 8

My god, Patterson is simply fantastic. He is in the zone. Stopped 47 of 55. He stopped them from the left to the right, in front and to the sides. Toth will have nightmares of Nick the Quick for quite a while. Disher has a tough act to follow tomorrow night, lets go Disher.

  • 01/14/06 - Review: Swarm 13 Wings 10

Nick Patterson made his first start of the season and was spectacular saving 45 of 55 shots as the Minnesota Swarm (1-1) got their first win of the season in Philadelphia (2-1) by a score of 13-10 against the Wings. The Swarm leaped out to a 9-3 lead at half with a strong defense led by Michael Kilby and Jon Sullivan and kept the Wings at bay the rest of the way. Kelly Hall had the game winning goal to go along with his 3 goals and an assist to lead the Swarm in scoring.

  • 01/13/06 - Swarm Make Roster Moves Before Rematch with the Wings

  • 01/13/06 - Preview: Swarm at Wings

This weekend, the Swarm are looking to get their first win of the year and to keep up with the undefeated Wings (2-0) in the East Division. This is the Wings home opener. The Swarm are hoping that #11 Kelly Hall will be ready to go after a rib injury suffered before last Friday's game. The lefthander's scoring and aggressiveness will be needed near the net to help with the offense.

  • 01/06/06 - Review: Swarm 11 Wings 15

  • 01/06/06 - Swarm Make Roster Moves Before Opener

The Minnesota Swarm made a few moves just before the regular season opener at The Hive against the Philadelphia Wings on Friday.

First off, D'Arcy Berthiaume was activated to the active roster off the physically unable to perform list. Berthiaume had 14 goals and 18 assists and the Swarm now think he is ready to go for the season after recovering from a torn Achilles tendon suffered playing summer ball.

The Swarm brought in a new player, signing defenseman Mark Miyashita who was recently released by the Colorado Mammoth. Miyashita was the first overall pick in the 2003 NLL Entry Draft by Vancouver Ravens and in his rookie season, he had 7 goals and 16 assists. After the Ravens disbanded, Miyashita played for the Mammoth in 2005 and scored 2 goals and 7 assists. Miyashita is also able to faceoffs and with Berthiaume's health problems, he may indeed become the main face off man.

To make room for Berthiaume and Miyashita, the Swarm released Travis Hill and Shawn Summerfield
