  • 02/27/09 - Preview: Minnesota Swarm at Buffalo Bandits
    The Minnesota Swarm (3-5) will finish their road doubleheader this weekend in Buffalo against the defending NLL Champions, the Bandits (7-1) on Saturday, February 28 at 6:30 pm Central. The Swarm will enter the HSBC Arena after beating the Toronto Rock (2-6) Friday night by a 13-10 score. The game can can be viewed at Swarm Vision Live.
  • 02/25/09 - Preview: Minnesota Swarm at Toronto Rock
    The Minnesota Swarm (2-5) will travel to Toronto to play the Rock (2-5) on Friday, February 27 at 6:30 pm Central. This match up is between the two last place teams in each division. The Swarm have lost five straight while the Rock have lost two straight. This is the first of two road games this weekend with the Swarm finishing up in Buffalo on Saturday night. Newly acquired Aaron Wilson makes his return to Toronto for the first time since he was traded to Rochester and then Minnesota since the end of the 2008 season. This series is tied 4-4 with the Swarm winning the last threee including two in Toronto. The game can can be viewed at Swarm Vision Live.
  • 02/23/09 - Iannucci Returns to Send Swarm to Fifth Straight Loss
    Athan Iannucci made a triumphant return for the Wings this past Saturday scoring the game winner and getting three goals as the Wings sent the Swarm to their fifth straight loss in a 13-12 victory in Philadelphia. The Swarm came back from a 8-4 halftime deficit but just fell short. Dan Marohl led the Swarm with a goal and five assists and Ryan Ward got his second hat trick of the weekend with three goals and two assists.
  • 02/23/09 - Offense Finally Scores, But Defense Snores
    The Minnesota Swarm dropped their fourth straight game in a 16-12 loss to the Boston Blazers at the X on February 20. It was the Blazers fourth win in five games. Ryan Ward led the Swarm with four goals and three assists.
  • 02/21/09 - McDade placed on Hold Out List, Favero activated
    The Minnesota Swarm placed recently signed forward Rory McDade on the hold out list. To fill the roster spot, the Swarm signed forward Brad Favero to an one year contract and placed him on the active roster.

    Favero, a lefthander, was drafted by the Swarm in the 2007 Entry Draft in the fifth round with the 60th pick. He has been on the Swarm practice roster for all of 2008 and all of 2009 up til this point. The 5' 10" 180 lb. from St. Catherines, Ontario plays for the Wellington Aces of the OLA Sr. B circuit, where he led them to the President's Cup glory in 2006.

  • 02/19/09 - Rory McDade is Back In Minnesota
    The Minnesota Swarm signed forward Rory McDade to an one year contract today. McDade was signed after Craig Point and Dean Hill were traded to Rochester. McDade was released in training camp in December. The lefthander has played in sixteen games with the Swarm since 2006 scoring 5 goals and 21 assists.
  • 02/19/09 - Swarm trade Craig Point & Dean Hill to Rochester for Aaron Wilson
    The Minnesota Swarm and Rochester Knighthawks completed a trade today. The Swarm traded 2008 NLL Rookie of the Year forwards Craig Point and Dean Hill to the Knighthawks for forward Aaron Wilson and a conditional draft pick.

    Point, a righthander, has two goals and six assists in four games for the Swarm in 2009. Point scored 29 goals and 40 assists in 20 regular season games in his two year NLL and Swarm career.

    Hill, a lefthander, has two goals and nine assists in four games for the Swarm in 2009. Hill scored 49 goals and 41 assists in 27 games in his NLL and Swarm career. He made his debut in 2006 scoring four goals against the San Jose Stealth on April 9, 2009.

    Wilson, a righthander, has nine goals and six assists in six games for the Knighthawks in 2009. Wilson first played in 2003 for the Toronto Rock and played there through 2008. He was traded in the off season to Rochester. In 97 regular season games in his career, Wilson has scored 199 goals and 150 assists. He has won two Champions Cups with Toronto in 2003 & 2005.

  • 02/19/09 - Swarm at Stealth Rescheduled to April 3, 2009
    The Minnesota Swarm at San Jose Stealth game scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2009 has been rescheduled to Friday, April 3, 2009 due to a conflict with the HP Pavilion, the home arena of the Stealth. That weekend will now be a doubleheader with the Swarm hosting the Edmonton Rush the next day on April 4, 2009. That leaves only one game on the weekend of March 20 - 22, 2009 in Colorado against the Mammoth on Sunday, March 22. See the updated Minnesota Swarm schedule.
  • 02/19/09 - Preview: Minnesota Swarm at Philadelphia Wings
    The Minnesota Swarm (2-3) will start a six game road trip with this back end of a weekend doubleheader in Philadelphia against the Wings (2-5) on Saturday, February 21. The Swarm lead the series 6-4 and will later play the Wings again in Philadelphia on Saturday, March 14. Game time is at 6:30 pm Central and can be viewed at Swarm Vision Live.
  • 02/19/09 - Preview: Minnesota Swarm vs Boston Blazers
    The Minnesota Swarm (2-3) look to end their three game losing streak as they host the Boston Blazers (4-3) on Friday, February 20 at the X in the first of two games this weekend. This will be the first game between these teams as the Blazers rejoined the league after originally leaving after the 1997 season. This will be the last home game for the Swarm until March 28. Game time is at 7:00 pm Central and can be viewed at Swarm Vision Live.
  • 02/10/09 - Roughnecks 5-0 Overall and 5-0 in First Quarter
    In a battle of the top two in the West, the host Calgary Roughnecks (5-0) dealt the Minnesota Swarm (2-2) their second straight loss by a score of 13-8 on February 6, 2009. Chad Culp led the Swarm with two goals, one assist and eleven loose balls.
  • 02/04/09 - Preview: Minnesota Swarm vs Colorado Mammoth
    The Minnesota Swarm (2-1) finish up their weekend at the X as they host the Colorado Mammoth (2-2) on Saturday, February 7. The Swarm have never beaten the Mammoth in their history, losing both games in the series which were both at home. Game time is at 7:00 pm Central and can be viewed at Swarm Vision Live.
  • 02/03/09 - Preview: Minnesota Swarm at Calgary Roughnecks
    The Minnesota Swarm (2-1) will return to action after a weekend off to battle the West Division leading Calgary Roughnecks in Calgary on Friday, February 6. This will be the first of two games this weekend for the Swarm, who plan to cut into if not pass up the Roughnecks in the standings this weekend. Game time in Calgary is at 8:30 pm Central and can be viewed at Swarm Vision Live.
