Minnesota Swarm 23-Man Roster for 2011

Announced December 23, 2010

The Minnesota Swarm announced their 23-man active roster for the upcoming 2011 season. Six players are new from the 2010 Swarm active roster at the end of last year.

  • 9 - Tyler Hass - Selected in the 2006 Entry Draft but made team in first training camp
  • 20 - Andrew Suitor - Selected with the 4th pick overall in the 2010 Entry Draft
  • 24 - Rory Smoth - Selected with the 4th pick in the Titans Dispersal Draft
  • 27 - Mat Giles - Acquired in a trade from Boston
  • 47 - Travis Hill - Activated from injured reserve
  • 85 - Matt Kelly - Selected in the 2009 Entry Draft but spent 2010 recovering from knee surgery

Six players who were on the 2010 Swarm active roster at the end of last year are not on the active roster to start this year:

  • 5 - Josh Funk - Released
  • 6 - Scott Self - Traded to Buffalo
  • 7 - Dan Marohl - Retired
  • 24 - Sean Thomson - Released
  • 27 - Colin Achenbach - Retired
  • 75 - Jay Thorimbert - Traded to Buffalo

Ryan Cousins will start the sesaon on the hold out list and according to Swarm General Manager Marty O'Neill will be available around March 15. Ryan Sharp and Nick Inch have jobs also that may require them to miss time during the season, also.
