      The Minnesota Swarm have re-signed forwards Kevin Ross and Aaron Wilson and signed forward Sean Thomson to one-year contracts for the 2010 season.

      Kevin Ross returns for his second season in Minnesota, third overall. The lefty scored 20 goals and 23 assists in 16 games laat year for the Swarm. He was only one of two Swarm players, the other Noah Talbot, to play in every game for the Swarm in 2009. He scored three goals four times last year including the first and last games of the year. He won the 2009 Mann Cup this summer with the Brampton Excelsiors and is presently trying out for Team Canada for the 2010 World Field Lacrosse Championships.

      Aaron Wilson returns for his second season in Minnesota, eighth overall. The righty arrived in Minnesota along with a draft pick on February 19th from Rochester for Craig Point amd Dean Hill. In ten games with Swarm, he scored 22 goals and 21 assists and combined for the season, he scored 31 goals and 27 assists in sixteen games. He tied a team record with five goals in one game on February 28 against Buffalo and had four straight games with six or more points. Swarm General Manager Marty O'Neill has named Wilson as one of the team's assistant captains for the 2010 season. He only needs eight more points for 400 in his regular season career. This summer he won his second straight Mann Cup with the Brampton Excelsiors. He also has won a Champions Cup in Toronto in 2005.

      Sean Thomson is a right handed forward entering his second year of NLL play. The 24 year old, 6' 2" 220 lbs from Burlington, Ontario was drafted by the Wings with the ninth pick in the first round of the 2008 Entry Draft. He played in seven games in 2009 scoring five goals and assist; however, his season ended prematurely due to concussion and he was placed on injured reserve. He did not play this summer but is playing with Guelph University in the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association this fall.

      The Minnesota Swarm made a deal with the Rochester Knighthawks as they acquired forward Ryan Hoff and a second round pick in the 2011 Entry Draft for goaltender Aaron Bold, forward Cody Johnson and defenseman Ian Rubel.

      Ryan Hoff comes to Minnesota as a NLL rookie. The 5-11 203 lbs. righthanded forward was drafted by the Rochester Knighthawks with the 34th pick in the third round of the 2009 Entry Draft out of Notre Dame. In his four years of Irish lacrosse, Hoff scored 134 goals in 63 games. In this article on NLL Insider, Hoff sees himself as a finisher near the net.

      The Swarm traded three players including Ian Rubel who had played five games for the Swarm in the last two seasons notching two assists. Aaron Bold is a goaltender the Swarm acquired during the 2009 Entry Draft. With Bold gone, that leaves only Nick Patterson and Kevin Croswell as goaltedners on the roster heading into camp next month. Cody Johnson was drafted in the fifth round with the 44th pick in the 2009 Entry Draft.

      The Minnesota Swarm signed five players to one-year contracts today including 2009 rookies, Kevin Buchanan, Josh Funk and Andrew Watt. 2009 practice roster player Ricky Pages was brought back and the Swarm will bring in Jay Winder, who played with the Toronto Rock in 2008.

      Kevin Buchanan returns to the Swarm after a very successful 2009 rookie season after being selected 11th in the 2008 Entry Draft out of The Ohio State. Buchanan made the 2009 All-NLL Rookie Team as he scored 22 goals and 23 assists in eleven games. He scored five goals against Toronto on February 27, which tied a Swarm single-game record. That weekend performance won him NLL rookie of the week that week. He is presently trying out for the United States team that will partake in the 2010 World Field Lacrosse Championships.

      Josh Funk returns for this second season with the Swarm. Funk joined the team in January and made his NLL debut with the Swarm against Calgary on March 28. Funk scored three goals last year and presently has scored a goal in three straight games.

      Ricky Pages was drafted in the fourth round by the Swarm in 2008 and spent the 2009 season on the practice roster. Pages played for the Long Island Lizards of the MLL this past summer and played in the MLL All-Star game.

      Andrew Watt was the Swarm's first pick in the 2008 Draft taken eighth overall. Watt scored six goals and eleven assists in thirteen games in his debut season. Four of his goals were shorthanded which was tied for the NLL lead in 2009 with Calgary's Tracey Kelusky and set a Swarm single season record for shorthanded goals. Watt was named NLL rookie of the week for his performance against Portland on January 3, 2009.

      Jay Winder comes to the Swarm from the Toronto Rock where in his rookie season of 2008, the lefthanded defenseman scored one goal, one assists and scooped up 38 loose balls in eleven games. Both his goal and assist in 2008 were scored against the Swarm on January 11, 2008. Winder started the 2009 with the Rock on injured reserve but was later released. Look for Winder to wear #20.
